Here is a class full of future power achievers right here. Democracy Prep elementary school students are beautifully youthful, full of energy and in harmony. Out of the mouths of babes…This amazing little video is a group of young grade schoolers singing a message to everyone (set to the infectious pop tune “Call Me, Maybe”). No matter your preference, just get out and VOTE this November! It’s reminiscent of the Ron Clark Academy students who sang “You Can Vote However You Like” in 2008, set to the catchy Hip Hop tune, “You Can Have Whatever You Like”.
Here’s the video and an unofficial transcription of the first verse below it.
“It’s time again now to speak
to what your nation needs
It’s time to challenge your beliefs
The power is yours today.
So put your hands to the fight
Start exercising your right.
Debates are yours to ignite.
What do you have to say?
Blue Democrats and red Republicans want
your support on tax and healthcare, but
are you going to be persuaded?
VOTE for Obama
or VOTE for Romney!
It’s your CIVIC duty!
Vote FOR somebody!
So many ’round the world
LONG for democRAcy.
So here’s YOUR reminder!
VOTE for somebody!”
